One of the newest technologies in the classroom is an interactive whiteboard. There are many different sites that are available for creating lessons on an interactive whiteboard. The website that I used to create my lesson is called Gynzy. To find out more on how to create your own Gynzy account, keep reading below.
What is Gynzy? Gynzy is an online website where teachers are able to create lessons for students to interact using the whiteboard program. This program allows for teachers to create their own lessons, use created lessons, and use online interactive tools. Using this online tool, teachers can create interactive lessons for their students which can also draw out engagement from their students. How to create your own Free Gynzy account!

How does this lesson connect with Danielson Domain 3D? This online interactive tool allows for teachers to create lessons and ask questions. The students are able to come to the board and participate themselves, as well as have groups work together on a game or activity. Without having assessments created in learning, then the teacher would not have an idea of what he or she should be teaching. Using the interactive white board tool, the teacher can create a quiz or informal assessments to gauge where the students are in their learning. Therefore using the tool, teachers can create both formal assessments and informal assessments. What element of 3D is associated with Domain 3D? The element that is directly related to Gynzy white board is the element of Monitoring Student Learning. This element is trying to help teachers observe the students learning during a lesson. In addition to helping teachers observe, this element is also trying to have the teacher incorporate assessments directly into the lesson. The easier that the assessments are placed in the lesson, the smoother transitions will be and the less students will notice that the teacher is even assessing them. How does this tool tie in with the SAMR model? This tool completely changes how teachers teach their lessons and use the computer to completely teach the lesson. This tool ties in with the Substitution level of the SAMR model. The teacher is just replaced the handwritten lesson with an online tool for the lesson. Even though teachers can create quizzes and assessments for the students, the main focus is on the lesson. Because the teacher is using a simple tool, this fits in perfectly with the Substitution of the SAMR model. How does this tool tie in with Foundations of Teaching? Having taken Foundations of teaching last semester, we used an interactive whiteboard in class once. In class, Dr. Chapman demonstrated different ways that note taking could be used in the classroom, but this tool could take the interactive white board to another new level. Not only could note taking be used in the classroom, but this tool could allow for complete student interaction and it could allow for more participation from the class. This tool took the knowledge of the interactive whiteboard from a note taking capacity to an interactive tool for students and teachers alike. What would I change about this online tool? This tool was excellent and very simple to use, yet there is something that I would change. The activities are very well set and put together but, because I am working with a Spanish classroom, there were very few tools or extras that I could use for the lesson. I had learned to be creative in what I use, but it would have been nice to have quite a few more tools that were available for use for the lesson. Also, having the activities and extras be more easily accessible to search. The tool is somewhat difficult to search around if one does not get instructions or watch a video with instructions.
