How does Google Forms fit under this domain of Danielson's Framework? This tech tool fits in perfectly with the specified Danielson Domain 1B because teachers need to understand their students before they can teach them and effectively reach them. When students fill out an information survey, the teacher learns all about the student. They learn a little about home life, as well as personal items and all the way to learning preferences for the students. Knowing about your students on a more personal level ties in with the element of Knowledge of the Student's Interest and Cultural Heritage. In addition to the element, knowing about your students helps to create lesson plans and more effective lessons in general. Also, if a teacher knows more about his or her students, then there is a greater level of respect between the students and teachers. Therefore, creating a student interest survey is perfect for teachers to know their students to also help plan for future lessons and being able to effectively reach their students. |
How does Google Forms tie in with the SAMR model?
This tech tool works directly with the SAMR model! Because teachers can create all different types of testing materials as well as worksheets online. The direct component of this model would be the modification step. Teachers are able to create a completely online worksheet where the students fill out all of the given information as well as add other pieces of technology. The final work could also be presented to parents. Due to there being the ability to add media as well as use a completely modified worksheet or test, this tech tool would fit in perfectly with the SAMR model. How can I use this Google Form in my future classroom? The form that I created is a perfect way for me to understand and get to know my students on a better level. This form is a student interest survey therefore I will have my students answer all the questions at the beginning of the first day of classes so that I can know how to effectively reach all of my students. Also, I will be able to edit this survey for other age groups that I may teach. If I teach a younger grade, I can make it developmentally appropriate, and if I teach an upper elementary class, I can adjust to provide some more challenging and thinking questions. Overall, this form can be used at the beginning of the year for any classroom that I am working in. What did I enjoy about creating this artifact? Google Forms are fun and simple to use! It was extremely simple, yet I was able to accomplish many different questions. A handy addition to the tool was how the tool recognized what form of question I was using. Following the understanding of the question, the system would automatically change the answer format. Instead of having to go in manually to select multiple choice, short answer, paragraph answer, etc. The tool itself would set the answer format. If necessary, I could change the format, but it was rare that a changed occurred. That addition was one of my favorites of this tool, another would be the moving background themes. Having themes is a good idea to add some color and life to the survey, yet Google Forms went above and beyond- they added moving themes. These themes are fun and bring entertainment. Having a moving background could become distracting to the student filling out the survey, yet it is still a simple and fun addition. |
